on the home front {our new home}…

a nomadic abode_snapshot

a few snapshots of some styling in our not-so-new home {did i mention we’d moved?}…

last october we snagged ourselves our latest {no.5} & most favouritist london rental abode yet, just 4 doors down from our previous pad, but it couldn’t be more different…

& we love it!

no more laminate floors & endless magnolia walls {yes, off-white paint abounds here too, but it’s interspersed with bare brick & acres of windows overlooking the greenery of neighbour’s backyards}

here we get to enjoy extra-wide wooden boards plucked from a french railway station, stained-glass windows procured from the owner’s former polo club {as you do!} & beautiful tiles crafted, i believe, by his ceramicist sister…

but even better, this home just feels like us & we have finally found a space configuration which accommodates the way we live…

gone is the home office/guest bedroom {sorry guys, but we’re putting ourselves first on this one} & in its place is a super-sized, double-height living room wherein our furniture is positively swimming in space {no more sofas pushed against walls, yay!}…

we have a spacious kitchen-diner with a dedicated reading nook overlooking the treetops beyond {all we need is that elusive reading chair}: this keeps the lad more than happy as it’s here he can combine his favourite pursuits of cooking, reading & catching some much-needed rays of sunshine…

meanwhile the household nightowls {yours truly} can hang out in the lounge & watch trash tv to our hearts content without disturbing the sleep patterns of others…

all-in-all it’s a total win win & i’m so proud of us for really analysing how we live {not how we thought we should live} & choosing a space that allowed us to do just that!
