for the menfolk {a valentine’s wish}…

if i were a man i think i’d be pretty over this whole valentine’s day charade by now…

the expectation, the expense, the post gift-giving analysis: it would cripple me & my bank balance…

but, just to prove there is a heart that beats under this gruff exterior, i just so happen to have a gift for my lad, & indeed for all of our menfolk collectively…

especially for the ones who resist eye-rolling when they come home to find the furnishings have moved, yet again; for those who say nothing, but flex the muscle when we want to magically transport oversized pot plants up & down three flights of stairs; & to those who buy us a birthday lamp which costs more than their first car, but maintain a dignified silence {or at least give that a damn good shot} because they know how much we love it…

this wish, my kind sirs, is my valentines gift for you:

valentines

may there always be room in our hearts & our homes for the things that reflect you & only you…

may you always find a secret place to escape to with a good book for when the talk of paint colours becomes too wholly unbearable…

may we never forget the ravishing man that you are & the poet that resides within {even if you’re not so hot with the power tools & your card writing skills aren’t the best}…

& may love illuminate your life today & all days…

happy valentines…

{ps, happy birthday to my dear friend fiona… i’m sure this one is extra-special indeed!}

  1. Aw, a very happy Valentine’s Day to you and your man, Sue!! I definitely appreciate a man who doesn’t whine when I get in one of my “must redecorate this room immediately” phases 🙂 Enjoy! xoxo

  2. Happy belated V Day to you and your man who sounds positively charming.

    If we could only teach them to care about such matters. Maybe this would make relationships easier???

    I do think men need lots of our love as they’re really a bit lost without us gals!!!

    Now, has your boy started the 30 days adventure???

i'd love to hear your thoughts...
