the sunday nook {moroccan dreaming}…

shimmering moroco

if the blustery weather outside wasn’t making you dream of distant shores, one look at today’s nook should seal the deal…

simplicity, serenity & a smattering of shimmer are the key ingredients here…

a clever use of texture & pattern negates the need for vibrant palettes: instead oversized pom poms, geometric tiles & a beni ouarain rug conspire to stimulate the senses…

a simple fireside nook & a stunning metallic upper-mantle complete the magic…

i know where i’ll be dreaming of tonight…

& you?

  1. I repinned that stunning room so quickly from you yesterday I think I got whiplash. I mean seriously, I’ve never seen something so perfect, and I never thought I was a “Moroccan chic” lover. It’s usually not my aesthetic (I don’t love tile floors) but it just WORKS in this room. You can barely make out that fireplace in the back; I’d cover the mantel with books and never leave the room. Fitz would have an absolute field day with those giant pom-pom tassels on the bed linen 🙂

    • it’s so beautiful isn’t it! i’ve seen an updated photo of the room & they changed the bed to a four poster & it just loses its charm altogether… simple, understated, laid back is the best! and i would tile that sparkly wall to the ceiling… but otherwise, this is heaven!

  2. It’s funny how life works… I’ve been collating images relating to Moroccan Interiors for a friend/client who is interested in creating a moroccan vibe in her home. I’m so showing her this one. Thanks!

    • haha… i’ve used it to help me to pull together a room for a friend of mine too! she wanted all the fun of the kasbah without the camel, if you know what i mean!?! a moroccan inspired, but not themed, room! this works for me!

i'd love to hear your thoughts...
