the dream factory {our home}…

i might be busy planning our future home, but i’m always on the lookout for any improvements i can incorporate into our current abode too, especially elements we can take with us when we move…

today i’ve been pulling together a moodboard for our bedroom…

a nomadic abode

the look i’m after hasn’t changed much over the past few years: soft greys, crisp whites, tan leather, raw wood & layer-upon-layer of textures to create a calming, inviting retreat…

thankfully we already have most of the key ingredients including this upholstered juliette bedoak block tables {ours were custom made, but these are similar}, hector table lamps, a chunky woollen blanket {this one would also work nicely} & this beautiful la lune artwork

but there’s a few more elements i’d love to introduce to complete the room: this arcadia wallpaper is perfect for renters as it doesn’t require a paste application {& for a reasonably small outlay it makes a huge statement}; the oversized koushi lamp is simple, timeless & impactful without overpowering the scheme; in my dreams i’ll find a vintage butterfly chair with tobacco-coloured leather in mint condition which i’ll place in a corner so i can admire it from afar; soft & silky sheepskin rugs will warm our feet on winter mornings; this flower cushion will introduce a fresh & modern vibe; stonewashed linen bedding will drape effortlessly over our bed & these snuggly velvet curtains will frame our view outside…

what are the perfect ingredients for your bedroom?

  1. This moodboard is phenomenal. Up until I saw this I didn’t know how badly we needed a tan leather chair in our bedroom! You’re very convincing. We definitely need more raw wood elements. I “inherited” a cherry wood chest of drawers from Boyfriend’s collection when we moved in together, and a cherry wood sleigh bed. Not horrible, but definitely not my first choice. We painted the walls dark gray and it plays very well with the dark red wood tones, but in my DREAM bedroom, there would be paler tones. Like yours! xoxo

    • i left off something so i’ll have to update next week… it will divide the masses, but i love it & can’t believe i forgot such a crucial element! haha…

i'd love to hear your thoughts...
