the sunday nook {welcome to my home}…

a nomadic abode

welcome back lovelies…

i hope & trust your christmas break brought some much-needed rest & respite…

lots of eating, pyjama wearing & tv watching in this household with a big side of nothing: perfect!

as the final sunday nook for 2012 i thought it fitting to feature a long overdue snapshot of my own home…

it’s come a long way since we moved in nearly four months ago…

& whilst it’s still {& will always be} a work in progress, i think it’s finally starting to reflect its inhabitants {well, maybe one of us a tad more than the other!}…

today’s nook is our entrance way: that transitional space that links our living quarters from our sleeping quarters & also gives our guests their first taste of what is to come as they enter our home…

it’s not a big nook, just a narrow passageway at the top of an even narrower flight of steps leading up from the front door…

in fact there’s just enough room for a console table & mirror & somewhere to display a handful of my favourite pieces…

there are no big dollar items in this nook, just an odd assortment of vintage etsy finds, treasures from our travels & various trinkets accumulated over time…

to me it quite simply says ‘welcome’…

  1. Simply perfect. I love your nook and liked it on Instagram…. inviting, seductive and very you. Bravo!

I hope you enjoyed 2012 as much as I did and look forward to finally meeting you in 2013. Ciao!! See you on the other side.

    • thank you tina! 2012 was ok, but i say onwards & upwards! very much looking forward to our catch-up… i’m thinking an afternoon tea might be in order! 😉 here’s to new beginnings!

  2. I love this. The Diptyque candle, the dried flowers, the glam mirror and the strong fabric of the rug (?). What a wonderful welcoming area to your home! That would definitely set the scene for me, in terms of your overall aesthetic! Happy New Year! Looking forward to the new Nooks of the year. xo

    • thank you lovely! happy new year to you too! i must say, the home is coming together… though it’s always a work in progress! 😉

    • thank you so much love! i do wish i owned my own home so i could have a bit more out-of-the-box fun, but i guess good things come to those who wait!

i'd love to hear your thoughts...
