the sunday nook {home for a cook}…

having spent the best part of last week in my kitchen whipping up green smoothies & other assorted vegetable concoctions as part of a detox, i was inspired today to find a kitchen nook that would be a delight to linger a long time in should the need arise again…

enter this glistening white box from the home of stylist kara rosenlund

glossy subways tiles & calacatta oro marble countertops create a modern backdrop for the vintage & antique decorative elements & the crisp white palette not only allows these pieces to shine but also creates a cohesiveness across the numerous surfaces incorporated…

open shelving & painted boards lend a relaxed vibe to the space as do orderly displays of cooking utensils left out for easy access…

& i’m a firm believer that the use of artwork is a clever addition in any open plan kitchen as it allows the space to blend more fluidly with adjoining rooms…

    • hi leah… detox went great… did it for one week: no caffeine, wheat, sugar, salt, dairy, etc… skin is glowing already… hoping to continue leaving out sugar, added salt & wheat whilst cutting back but not completely eliminating caffeine & dairy… not as hard as i remember & i have so much more energy!

  1. Gosh, Sue, I NEED to detox and just can’t bring myself to… it’s cold and I want soup and lots of protein. I’m feeling really sluggish though…. I need some inspiration…

  2. you can eat soup (i made pumpkin & my boyfriend made red capsicum & red lentil) and lots of protein! completely fine… just cut out the sugar, wheat, caffeine, salt & dairy! 🙂 i feel so much better for it… & going into winter i think i might keep it up in so far as finding healthier alternatives for my usual carb fixes!

i'd love to hear your thoughts...
