the sunday nook {on a monday}…

firstly, apologies for missing yesterday’s post… i started a detox on saturday & by sunday the thumping headache had kicked in full swing…

so, a little later than normal, i present to you the sunday nook:

firstly, no, this is not an impending birth announcement on my part…

but with so many pregnancies & newborns being announced in our circle of family & friends, i thought it apt to finally feature a nursery…

what i love most about this one {by moss eclectic} is the fact that, crib aside, it doesn’t actually look like a nursery… with the right furniture additions this room could equally pass as a cosy lounge, study nook, or grown-up retreat…

& that, in my book, is how a nursery should feel: like an extension of the rest of the home…

not for me the disney themes or super bright nurseries i see so very often…

afterall, this is the space in which you hope to lure your newborn into a state of calm & contentedness…

so, with this in mind, what could be better than an embracing cocoon in which they can feel snug & safe & slumber deep & long?

  1. Not that this is an admission on my part either, but I fully intend to turn the guestroom into a nursery when the time comes, simply by adding a crib. I’m not going bright-pink walls, fluffy carpets and cartoon characters everywhere. It should be a calming extension of the home, you’re right, and considering the baby won’t even have an opinion on the decor until at least age 6 there’s no point in redecorating entirely. I have to spend time in there the most, after all 🙂 Hypothetically, of course! xo

    • oooh, we’re both sounding clucky aren’t we!?! haha… yup, agreed, kid gets no say in decor until they can express their displeasure in writing! 😉

i'd love to hear your thoughts...
