sometimes i even intrigue myself with the workings of my own mind…
case in point, the recent long-winded acquisition of a certain brahman… the holy kind… the holy cow kind…
i would have to go back several months to recall when i first spied this beautiful bovine… off the fulham road in one of those glorious cavernous antique stores that is perpetually advertising its impending closure {it’s still going strong to this day!}
not quite sure how it happened that my eye was captured by this beast of burden, but captured it was… that day & again on the next visit & again the visit after that… until i found myself repeatedly returning to this dust-addled emporium purely to see if this moulded mound of plastic was still there, waiting for me to once again enquire about the cost to take it home with me {like if i repeatedly asked the price, maybe it would miraculously change… it did: first it went up by £12 and then it went down by £5… in total, a £7 increase from my first query: that’ll learn me!}… despite the instant attraction, it took four visits over 2-3 months for me to secure the purchase, all £25 of it…
here’s the clincher: two days ago whilst randomly perusing curtains for work, i happened upon an ebay sale and, before i knew it, my traitorous fingers had typed in a bid offer and pressed confirm…
i’m now the owner of a lengthy {& lovely} lace curtain which i hadn’t, until two days earlier, ever before spied… the cost: £33.50…
and herein lies my quandary: how is it possible that i could repeatedly deny myself the pleasure of something for which i had so long & lovingly pined, & yet thrust my money at the first lace curtain vendor to happen across my screen?
curious… curious indeed!

i know, strange. but i have done the same thing…. glad the gorgeous brahman is now at home and loved xx
indeed, it sits on a pedestal of books no less! & in prime viewing position!
Is it really plastic??? Looks like metal! I like her
yes, plastic! chipped plastic no less! haha… but she has a distinct charm doesn’t she!
