colour match {matchbook magazine}…

although launched in january 2011, matchbook magazine is a new find on my design radar & from what i see so far i’ll be subscribing for sure…

touted as an online lifestyle publication celebrating classics “shaken and stirred”, april’s edition is proving big on bright bursts of saturated colours…

but for me the winning combination is definitely the more ‘garish’ hues as modelled by katie hatch, lead designer of harvey faircloth

no shrinking violet, this lovely lady has an attention-seeking wardrobe to match her flame-red hair & there’s something very reminiscent of orla kiely‘s retro palettes in these images, which i absolutely adore…

sausage dogs make me smile, without fail!

acid trip noughties’ style…

mustard yellow & tangy orange, soft peach & striking salmon all combined with nature’s tried & tested greens & browns… maybe it’s because i’m a product of the 70s, but there’s something distinctly familiar about these colour combinations to me…

would you be bold enough to pull off these hues, or is this a palette you’d perhaps consider using in your home this spring?

ps: a big thanks to ever-resourceful holly at decor8 for bringing yet another e-mag to my attention…
