you’ve arrived {transitional spaces}…

of all the homes i’ve personally visited over the years, i can count on one hand the ones that truly had me at hello… i mean bowled me over, took my breath away & got my mind racing with anticipation from the second the door opened…

creating that instant magic to welcome, invite, entice & delight your guests is so easily done & yet so, so often overlooked…

entrances & hallways have, for far too long, been relegated to the ranks of mere transitional spaces: somewhere we only pass through on our way to somewhere else… but done right, i truly believe they can & should feel like a destination in their own right…

take these spaces, for example… each deliver a tantalising sneak peek of what is to come whilst simultaneously setting hearts aflutter…

shannon fricke‘s bangalow retreat screams “cool, sophisticated & colour-confident” from the second you step inside…

a relaxed pace is set as soon as you cross the threshold of this country idyll… home comforts are sure to abound here!

whilst a sensory overload is more than just a promise for those who pass under peacock pavilions‘ horseshoe archway…
whatever your style, the formula is much the same… a striking piece of art, a splash of colour, some jaw-dropping furnishings or eye-catching flooring… pretty much anything that conjures up an overwhelming desire to explore what lies beyond…
