monochromatic magic {black & white}…

i love an interior that works hard, but looks effortless… & i often find that to be just the case when it comes to monochromatic schemes…

in the absence of colour as a prop, these schemes have to call upon all of their artistic reserves in order to pack a punch… textural layers, pattern & form cleverly combine to create visual interest & intrigue…

painted brickwork forms a textural backdrop which holds its own against the jaunty angles & strong tonal contrasts that interplay throughout this scheme…

punchy graphic patterns on a chalkboard wall, sweeping curves & textured panels all vie for attention in this sophisticated space…

simple & serene, this bedroom shines because of a clever use of form… the curve of the wood-burning stove offsets the angular boards, while the irregularity of the sheepskin rugs softens the overall look & feel…

for all the colours in the rainbow, sometimes it is the purity of black & white schemes that draw me in the most…
