gate crashing {the dark side}…

so, i may at last have found a willing victim participant to convert to the dark side of interiors {more on that movement from the grand poobah here}… truth is some poor lass at work happened to mention a bedroom makeover she was planning and i swiftly managed to single-handedly hijack the whole project volunteer my services and all between afternoon tea break & home time… {pretty impressive huh!}

i couldn’t resist the opportunity to throw some ideas together tonight in anticipation of what could be…

take one inky blue wall, not unlike this…

or this… {for a similar paint colour try hague from farrow & ball}

& add a daring dash of raspberry in the form of a statement piece like this…

or this…

then add to the mix some kick-ass lighting to make those walls sing…

tra la la la lah… {that’s those walls a singin’}

oh, and don’t forget the mandatory assortment of fabulous blooms {real or faux, you can’t go wrong}…

put it all together & i’m pretty sure we’re on to a winner…

will keep you posted on progress!

  1. You make me laugh! I can just hear you now….hijacker!
    Loving this – I always think of bedrooms as white bright affairs, but realistically they should be dark to help one’s slumber, but I love the contrast white skirts in the second shot and the fresh white linen – oh and those singing lights…Hmmm, food for thought for my new boudoir….

    • yes, no subtlety on my part at all… poor gal, didn’t get time to blink! haha… yes, i’m loving the idea of a darker palette in the bedroom too! dreamy & inky & like the night sky… delish! throw in lots of moody lighting (floor & wall & pendants) and i think it would be divine!

i'd love to hear your thoughts...
