repurposed {leather belts}…

as you may have gathered by now, i’m rather partial to pre-loved items… {akin to animal lovers with strays, if they’ve been abandoned & are a little worse for wear, all the more reason to give them a home}

& i’m particularly taken by the notion of giving something, that in its original form is no longer valued, a new sense of purpose… perhaps even more beautiful than its original incarnation

which brings me to my latest finding, repurposed leather belts… who knew unloved wardrobe staples could be refashioned into something as eye-catching as this?

take a seat & strap yourself in… this bench seating at gather restaurant uses repurposed materials in keeping with its eco theme…

robust & luxurious, a bespoke leather floor beautifully showcases the belts and all their nuances…

a doorway becomes a destination in its own right…

i could definitely see myself incorporating this look into my own home, if not that of a client… {imagine a headboard, ottoman or wall cladding in a masculine bedroom or dressing room… gorgeous!} so i’m particularly excited to learn london (& los angeles) based company ting is the design team behind the flooring & door treatments…

established in 2000, ting produces luxury products crafted from salvaged materials with a focus on incorporating sustainable & ethical principles… yet another reason to love their work!

  1. Lovely idea… I just don’t have that many belts… Now, if you can inspire me with something to do with ancient T-shirts, I (and Hannah more importantly) will be very glad… 😉

i'd love to hear your thoughts...
