shop love {restoration hardware}…

now, normally i’m not one to advocate decorating your entire home from one store…

to be frank, i think it can lack a little soul & a lot of originality…
{besides, i’m more of a mix & match kind of a lady… old, new, travel finds & hand-me-downs}

however, if the store in question just happened to be restoration hardware {based in the USA}, then… well, let’s just say, a girl could be persuaded…

these beautifully-staged rooms are rich in all my favourite textures: vintaged leathers, layered linens, weathered woods & metals…

it wouldn’t really feel like work at all if my home office looked like this… {imagine all the world’s wrongs i could put right from this power desk}

and i could happily lock myself away in this cosy cubby for hours on end… the perfect spot to plan those numerous vacations i would be able to afford! {well, afterall, it is my fantasy world we’re house crashing here!}

to break the monotony of travel planning, perhaps a little light draftwork to distract me in my light-filled den…

and when the working day is done…
{i might even be inspired to cook once in a while if my dining room looked even remotely like this}

whilst this lovely leather, wood & metal combo would be ideal for the lads’ {and ladies’} poker nights…

and seriously, who needs a tv when your lounge room looks like this? my evenings would be whiled away just admiring my tufted sofa, birdcage chandeliers & vintage-inspired collection of maps & prints…

and after a hard day gazing adoringly at the rest of my lovely home, i’d retire in blissful contentedness to my french-inspired wing-back bed with perfectly co-ordinated linens…

well, a girl can dream…
{just as well I don’t live in the states… in a mansion… with a millionaire!}

  1. What a wonderfully evocative post! Aren’t virtual house-hunts (and the daydreams they inspire) fun?

    Those chandeliers are pretty amazing. I have an inexplicable fascination for birdcages but reincarnated as lighting?! Be still my beating heart. 🙂

i'd love to hear your thoughts...
