rue magazine {hot off the virtual press}…

it’s rue time again…
and they’re kick-starting the new year with a big tribute to small spaces

bravo i say!
in my humble opinion, humbly-sized dwellings are all too often overlooked in the pages of design publications…
{especially given how many of us city-dwellers live in hamster cages}
and yet so much thought and editing goes into successfully pulling-off a demurely-proportioned home…

done well, intimate abodes can pack just as much design punch as their larger, loftier counterparts, if not more!
take for instance this little fella…

isn’t he handsome! {swoon}
my favourite featured space in Rue’s latest edition, by far…
this is the seattle studio of interior designer Brian Paquette
at just 220-square-feet it’s a hard-working space, doubling as both home & office

and i love everything about it…

a neutral palette, interspersed with graphic pieces, ties in a varied collection of nostalgic memorabilia
while a meandering montage of vintage photos and framed artworks enticingly wraps its way around the walls, with it drawing the eye and cleverly masking the room’s pocket-sized proportions…

bravo indeed!
