the wild unknown…

today’s loveliness comes courtesy of a sweet little online shop called the wild unknown
{doesn’t that name just make the gypsy in you want to dance?}
the brainchild of brooklyn-based artist Kim Krans, this is a company that prides itself on making “simple, thoughtful, handcrafted goods” and, quite frankly, i think there’s a lot to be proud of…

by way of evidence i invite you to behold exhibit A, my new office calendar

now, i’m not ordinarily one for clock watching and diary keeping
{i’m more what i’d like to think of as a “fly-by-the-seat-of-my-pants” kind of a girl: others just call me “late”}
but this little number is so striking that i told myself i could look beyond the purely functional components and focus instead on the exquisitely hand-drawn blossoms, branches, wildflowers and feathers that adorn each page

to further detract from the orderly rows of letters & numerals, each illustration is accompanied by some soulful song lyrics from the likes of Cat Stevens and Sinead O’Connor…

but such is the pull of the dreamy artistry that lies within
that in turning each page to partake of its beauty
i may just be swayed to take note of the day or date
and in so doing, inadvertently venture into my very own wild unknown…
