worth crossing the pond for…

keeping to a nautical theme to round out the week…
fresh in my inbox today, news of a series of boat-making workshops from the talented Ann Wood of annwoodhandmade

Ann is a Brooklyn-based artist who uses her mastery to bring vintage fabrics and found objects to life…
perhaps best known for her adorable fabric birds, bats & ballerinas,
it’s Ann’s seafaring vessels that had me at “arrr me hearties”
(forgive me, the pirates made me type that!)

whimsical & altogether wondrous, these magical pieces would be equally at home in a child’s room or, ermmmm…
a big child’s room (aka my house!)

for those of you on that side of the pond this spring,
here’s your chance to learn how to make your very own fleet…
Ann Wood’s Heirloom Boats workshops will be held at
the Squam Art Retreat, New Hampshire on June 7, 8 and 9
{registration opens January 9}
